In July of 1865 the 1st U.S. Vol. Infantry Company F was stationed on at Fort Wadsworth for about a year. These southern men were POW’s that took the oath of office to join the union army (Galvanized Yankees).

Majority of the forces station at Fort Wadsworth in the summer of 1865 was the 2nd Minnesota Cavalry Companies B, C and D. Also at the fort was the 3rd Minnesota Artillery – 3rd Section.

Come join us for this event held on the exact ground and relive the life in the Dakota Territory as a Cavalry, Artillery or a previous a Confederate soldier in the Union Army.
