Guidelines

All participants are encourage to bring a period tick or cot. No Straw will be provided.

All Uniforms, Brass and equipment must be clean.  

 

1st US Infantry Co. F

Uniform: 

  • Coat: Fatigue Blouse (4-button sack coat).

  • Trousers: Sky-blue kersey trousers’

  • Shirt: Regulation issue shirt or appropriate civilian wool/cotton shirt.

  • Foot Wear: Jefferson Bootee's (“brogans”).

 

Headgear:  

U.S. Issue 1858 Enlisted forage cap 

Insignia for branch

  • Infantry (bugle) – Number 1 and Company Letter F.

  • Civilian Hat (Records show that most soldiers would have a hat)

 

Accoutrements:

  • U.S. Issue leather belt with US buckle 

  • U.S. Issue cap pouch, cartridge box strap & breastplate 

 

Equipage:

  • U.S. Issue Double-Bag Knapsack or Blanket Roll 

  • U.S. Issue Canteen

  • U.S. Issue Haversack

  • U.S. Issue blanket

  • U.S. Issue gum blanket.

  

Weapons:

  • 1853 Enfield

  • 1861 Springfield

 

Ammo:

40 rounds (Blank)

Firing range rounds: Anyone who will be firing at the range. We encourage you to bring at least 20 rounds. These rounds must be package separately, labeled and will be turned in when you checked in at the event.

2nd Minnesota Cavalry and 3rd Minnesota Battery.

 

Uniform: 

  • Coat: Shell jacket with correct trimmed. (Yellow for Cavalry. Red for Artillery)

    • Fatigue Blouse (4-button sack coat)

  • Trousers: Sky-blue kersey trousers’

  • Shirt: Regulation issue shirt or appropriate civilian wool/cotton shirt.

  • Foot Wear: Boots and or Jefferson Bootee's (“brogans”).

 

Headgear:  

U.S. Issue 1858 Enlisted forage cap

  • Cavalry (Cross sabers)

  • Artillery (Cross Cannons)

Civilian Hat (Records show that most soldiers would have a hat)

 

Accoutrements: Cavalry

  • U.S. Issue Cavalry Sword Belt

  • U.S. Issue Carbine cartridge box

 

Equipage:

  • U.S. Issue Blanket  

  • U.S. Issue Canteen

  • U.S. Issue Haversack 

  • U.S. Issue gum blanket. 

 

Weapons:

  • 1860 Cavalry Sabre

  • Smith or Sharps Carbines

Civilians

Must wear the appropriate attire for their role in July 1865. 

All roles for civilians must be approve by the event staff before the event.
